Managing your wallet and withdrawing earnings

Learn how your Wallet works, how to track balances and payment statuses, and how to request withdrawals so you can get paid smoothly and on time

Musosoup is built to make your work sustainable. When you complete coverage, earn referral commissions, and receive payments from artists, your earnings are tracked clearly and paid out reliably.

Your Wallet is where you view your balance, track earnings across different activities, request withdrawals, and manage payout methods. This guide explains how the Wallet works, how to withdraw your earnings, and how to choose the best payout method for your location.

What is your wallet?

Your Wallet is the central hub for all your earnings on Musosoup. Here you can:

  • View your total withdrawable balance
  • See earnings broken down by activity type (Marketplace requests, offers, referrals)
  • Track work in progress and completed earnings
  • Request withdrawals when you reach the minimum threshold
  • Manage payout methods and invoicing details
  • Review detailed payment history

The Wallet provides both high-level overview metrics and detailed transaction history, giving you complete visibility into your earnings and payouts.

Understanding your wallet page

The Wallet page displays several sections that help you track earnings, monitor work in progress, and manage withdrawals.

Balance

Your balance shows the total amount you can currently withdraw. This is displayed prominently at the top of the page in the blue bar.

Once your available balance reaches £50 or more, a Withdraw button will appear, allowing you to request a payout. Withdrawals can be requested once per week, giving the Musosoup team time to process payouts smoothly and ensure everyone is paid accurately and on time.

Key metrics

The Wallet displays several important metrics that help you understand your current earnings status:

Work in Progress: This shows the total value of offers that have been paid for by artists but are awaiting your completion. Once you complete the coverage and it's approved by Musosoup's admin team, this amount will be added to your withdrawable balance.

Earning This Week: A summary of your completed and approved earnings within the current week. This helps you track recent activity and understand your weekly performance.

Withdrawals This Week: A summary of the total amount you've withdrawn this week. Since withdrawals are limited to once per week, this will typically show either your most recent withdrawal or zero if you haven't withdrawn yet this week.

This section breaks down how your earnings have been generated across different activities on Musosoup:

  • Marketplace requests: Earnings from artists who requested your listed promotions
  • Offers: Earnings from offers you sent that were accepted and completed
  • Referrals: Commission earned from artists or curators you referred to the platform

This breakdown helps you understand which activities are most profitable and where to focus your efforts.

Payments

The Payments section provides detailed transaction history with date and type filters. You can filter by:

  • Date range: View earnings from specific time periods
  • Payment type: Filter by offers, Marketplace requests, or referrals
  • Status: See work in progress, completed earnings, or withdrawn amounts

This detailed view allows you to analyze your earnings history and understand what's coming in the future, providing both granular detail and high-level overview as needed.

How to withdraw your earnings

Once you've earned £50 or more, you can request a withdrawal. The process is straightforward and designed to get your earnings to you quickly and reliably.

Step 1: Request a withdrawal

When your balance reaches £50 or more, a Withdraw Now button appears in the balance section at the top of your Wallet page.

Click this button to open the withdrawal request form in a sidebar.

Remember that withdrawals can only be requested once per week. This weekly limit helps maintain smooth processing and ensures accurate payouts for all curators.

Step 2: Add invoicing details

Before your first withdrawal, you'll need to enter invoicing details. These details appear on artists' receipts for the coverage you create and are required for payment processing.

Step 3: Choose your payment method

Musosoup supports several payout methods to accommodate curators worldwide. You can choose the option that works best for your location and provides the most favorable exchange rates and transfer times.

Available payout methods:

UK Bank Transfer: This is often the quickest and simplest option for UK-based curators. Transfers are typically processed within 1-2 business days. This option is available to UK curators but is completely optional, you can choose any supported method regardless of location.

PayPal: Available worldwide, including the UK. PayPal withdrawals require only the email address linked to your PayPal account. This is a convenient option if you already use PayPal regularly, though exchange rates and fees may vary.

Wise: Wise often provides UK-style account numbers and sort codes, even if you're located outside the UK. This is ideal because it allows Musosoup to send funds directly from our UK bank to your Wise wallet as a domestic transfer. From there, you can withdraw to your local bank whenever you like.

If Wise doesn't provide UK-style details for your account, you can instead supply relevant local banking information such as IBAN or account numbers, and the transfer will still work.

Payoneer: Payoneer also provides UK-style bank details in many cases, making it another solid option for both international and UK-based curators.

Choosing the best method for you:

Exchange rates vary between PayPal, Wise, and Payoneer and can change regularly. Wise is often the best option for larger withdrawals due to competitive exchange rates, but it's worth checking which service offers the best rate for your location and currency at the time of withdrawal.

This choice is entirely up to you. Select the method that provides the best combination of speed, cost, and convenience for your circumstances.

Step 4: Add payment notes (optional)

Below the payout method selection, there's a notes box where you can include any additional information the Musosoup team needs to process your payment correctly.

Use this field for:

  • Specific banking instructions
  • Clarifications about your payment details
  • Any special requests or information relevant to your withdrawal

This field is optional but can be helpful if your payment setup requires any explanation.

Step 5: Submit your withdrawal request

Once you've confirmed your invoicing details, selected your payout method, and added any necessary notes, submit your withdrawal request.

The Musosoup team will review and process your request within 24 to 48 hours. In most cases, requests are processed within 24 hours.

Payment timescales

Understanding when you'll receive your payment depends on several factors:

Musosoup processing time: From the moment you submit your withdrawal request, the Musosoup team will review and action it within 24 to 48 hours. In most cases, this happens within 24 hours.

Payment provider delivery time: After Musosoup sends the payment, delivery time depends on your chosen payment provider and your country:

  • UK bank transfers: Typically 1-2 business days
  • PayPal: Usually instant or within a few hours
  • Wise: 1-3 business days depending on destination country
  • Payoneer: 1-3 business days depending on destination country

International transfers may take longer depending on local banking systems, and this timing is outside of Musosoup's control.

What we guarantee: Musosoup guarantees prompt handling and processing on our side. After we send the payment, timing is determined by the banks or payment platforms involved.

Updating your payment details

If you ever change your bank account or payout method completely, please email Chris at chris@musosoup.com to give us a heads-up.

Even though you can update the details directly in your Wallet settings, sending a quick email is an extra safety step that helps avoid delays, mistakes, or payments being sent to old accounts.

Tips for managing your wallet effectively

Check your Work in Progress regularly: This shows earnings that are pending completion. Completing coverage promptly moves these funds to your withdrawable balance faster.

Monitor your Earning Distribution: Understanding which activities generate the most income helps you focus your efforts on the most profitable areas of the platform.

Plan withdrawals strategically: Since you can only withdraw once per week, consider timing your withdrawals to align with when you need funds rather than requesting small amounts frequently.

Compare exchange rates: If you're receiving payments in a currency different from GBP, check exchange rates across different providers (Wise, PayPal, Payoneer) to maximise the amount you receive.

Keep invoicing details current: Update your invoicing information if you move, change business structure, or need to modify tax details. This prevents delays in payment processing.
